Lily of the Springs
This is a women's fiction novel about Lily and her turbulent relationship with bad boy trashy Jake. This spans from the 50s to the 70s and the author captured these time periods nicely with added historic events, music, clothing, etc. Lily starts off as such an innocent girl in the 50s but as time passes with Jake, she goes through a lot of emotional craziness him. I can't see myself sticking around with a man like him but I can imagine many women did back then even though there were women finally finding independence for themselves. It takes Lily time to find her own and she eventually does. I appreciate the author's notes about her own mother & the connection with Lily at the end of this book.3.5 Stars
